The long wait is over and its time for the big one! The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is set open in Christchurch and Melbourne and the whole world would witness cricket calendar's biggest flagship event. Star Sports and Door Darshan will bring live telecast and streaming of world cup matches in India. Adding to the fun, matches would be live telecast on HD channels like Star Sports HD1, HD2, HD3 and HD4. HD3 is a channel dedicated for live Hindi commentary. Star Sports has geared up for the world cup even for selected regional languages. One can enjoy live match commentary in Hindi, English and also Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
India will begin its tournament with a cracker. The whole world awaits even more for the India vs Pakistan match that would be played on 15th February. Looking at the warm up results, it is now more believed that this world cup could be the most open ever. India who are the world champions have lost their winnings ways. But it was good to see them playing like champions against Afghanistan. India could see better days ahead with Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan return to form. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma are an absolute treat to watch. If pacers of India can start taking more advantage of the bowler friendly conditions, India can defend their title.
Pakistan looks rusty with lack of experience in the squad. But they managed to win two warm ups. This team comes with a lot of unpredictability yet full of strength. Not to forget they won their only world cup here in Australia.
Australia looks the strongest contender to win the world cup but its a long way to go. Warner, Smith, Maxwell and Starc are in supreme form. The team awaits Faulkner and Clarke to be fit and Johnson to return to form. And then this team would be unbeatable.
South Africa is always the most capable team to deserve the title. But somehow the get themselves eliminated in the knock outs. Hopefully they do better this time with the likes of in form Amla, Steyn, Morkel, AB de Villiers and many more to name.
West Indies have lost ways and they look highly disappointing. Cricket experts have already written them off but cricket fans hope a lot from this super talented team.
New Zealand are in sparkling form and one of the top favourites. The reason they entered the favourites league was their good form in the recent past. They did well abroad and at home in last three months. With aggressive batsmen, good bowlers, brilliant fielders, home support and friendly conditions, New Zealand has a great chance to reach the finals.
Sri Lanka lost to India in India. This was followed by disappointing performances in New Zealand. Above all they lost warm up matches against South Africa and Zimbabwe. They have been runners up in 2007 and 2011 world cups. Cricket world expects a lot from Sri Lanka.
Teams like Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, UAE, Scotland and Ireland have performed much better in warm ups than what was expected from them.
