South Africa is full of confidence at this moment with a comfortable T20 series. And this serves them the best opportunity to nail their first ever bilateral ODI series in India. South Africa before landing in India were a bit nervous. But now they have an upper hand with five ODI matches and four test matches to go.
On the other hand the Indian team has a lot to worry about. All they can do is forget the T20 loss as a nightmare and gather their sorts for the ODI matches. Nothing has gone the Indian way. The batting clicked but bowling failed in the first T20 match. The story was the other way round in the 2nd T20 International.
India's bigger strength is its batting. It will be tested against Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn led bowling attack. India's star batsman Virat Kohli isn't in his golden touch. There is a lot expected from Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Return of Ajinkya Rahane to the playing XI could strengthen the batting line up.
India's bowling is fragile. Apart from R Ashwin, none of the other bowlers have clicked so far. The only way Dhoni can try out a different combination could be by playing in Amit Mishra or Stuart Binny.
With the likes of Steyn, Morkel, AB de Villiers, Amla and many more to name; South Africa looks a stronger side in the ODI series. Let us see if India bounces back and provides us some surprise.
